Assembly instructions: wardrobe with sliding doors

Please take the time to read the instructions. Please do not just proceed by looking at the pictures alone! It is noticeable to you when you set it up. Thank you:)

For practical and safety reasons, please note the following:
It will be necessary to pay maximum attention to the various assembly phases, carrying out the necessary operations only in completely safe conditions to avoid damage to people or things. The components of our wardrobes have large dimensions and a significant weight, and consequently assembly can be extremely complicated or even not possible for some people. In any case, assembly cannot be carried out by a single person.
IDAW cannot be held responsible for any damage caused after delivery or during assembly. Once the goods have been unloaded and received, their care is responsibility of the customer. Before proceeding with the installation, it will be the customer`s duty to collect all useful information for assembly using the videos and assembly instructions provided by IDAW. We also remind you that during the installation phase all the regulations in force for the respective countries in terms of safety must be respected. It will therefore be necessary to use all the necessary personal protective equipment in order to guarantee a safe assembly. Before proceeding with assembly, the customer must also check that all the components necessary for assembly are present and that the items are correct in order to proceed with the various assembly phases without interruptions. If the customer identifies any missing items (e.g. hardware components), he/she can send an email to info@idaw.eu in order to request the items in question which will be supplied as quickly as possible.
Any unauthorized modification made to the wardrobe structure and its components or any improper use of the product will automatically void the product warranty as our cabinets must be installed following the instructions provided and respecting their normal working and use. IDAW cannot be held responsible for damages deriving from improper use or modifications made to the product.

The drawer boxes (with 2 or 3 drawers), the chest of drawers, the bedside table and the 7-drawers chest of drawers are delivered to the customer already assembled. The customer must not disassemble the drawers in any way, but will simply have to follow the assembly instructions; otherwise, the warranty on the article will be lost. If the customer needs to disassemble the drawers, it will be necessary to contact us by email at info@idaw.eu, explaining the reason of such need and waiting for the instructions of our team on how to proceed.

An important piece of information about the custom-made cabinet with depth of 45 cm or less.
Usually, our closet does not need to be wall-mounted as it is quite heavy and stable.
In certain cases, instead, due to the reduction in depth and high height, it is mandatory to mount them on the wall. The person who performed the installation must attach it to the wall before installing the door to avoid the risk of falling forward.

Please open the packages in the order listed. This will help you to avoid assembly difficulties!

When opening the package of metal parts, small parts and fittings, please ensure that no part is lost, since the parts are counted exactly and are only available in the number required for assembly.

If you also ordered LED lights, please note the following before setting up:

The horizontal sensor LED bar with motion detector (see video) is mounted under the wardrobe cover at the top (inside the cabinet). Use the two supplied screws for this.

The vertical LED bar, in the dividing side panel (see video), is installed in the inner cheek in which the milling is provided for this at the factory. In our video you can see how to assembly it with the wardrobe dividing side panel hole already prepared; however, it is much easier to install on a cupboard dividing side lying on the floor or on the table. Be sure to start at the top, 2.5 cm below the end of the dividing side panel, on which the cupboard top cover will be attached later, when you insert the vertical LED bar in the horizontal wardrobe dividing side panel. Since the same LED lengths are used for different cupboard heights, it can happen that a small part of the lower, vertical LED bar is covered by the wardrobe base.
In order for the motion sensor to work properly, it must always be positioned at the top.

Horizontal LED strips: For the power cable, a hole should be drilled into the wardrobe top cover on the left outside the position where the LED bar is to be screwed on, so that the power cable can be routed above and behind the wardrobe to a socket.

Please note that there must be some space available for the transformer of the LED systems! The easiest way to accommodate the narrow transformer is behind the dividing side panel if there is at least 3 cm of space between one of the wardrobe dividing side panel and wall behind the side cover panel (when you have ordered fitted wardrobe). Alternatively, it can be placed behind the wardrobe back if the wardrobe can be set up approx. 2 cm forward. The third variant for the free standing wardrobe as for fitted wardrobe is to accommodate the transformer on the top of the cabinet cover: However, this is only possible if, in addition to the necessary centimetre that is required for the construction, there is about 2 cm more space up to the ceiling. The last option is to cut a cutout for the transformer in the wardrobe back: This has the advantage that it is easily accessible.

– – 1 – –

Unpack the dividing side panel of the wardrobe. First of all, connect the leveling feet to the dividing panel (just on one side). Mount and screw the leveling feet as shown in the drawing.

IMPORTANT: Glue ordinary furniture felts (not included) to the bottom of the leveling feet to avoid the wardrobe from scratching the floor when it is moved.

Screw the four pins (see photo below) into the indicated holes. First screw the pins all the way in and then turn them back a little until the two holes are positioned vertically (see the photo with the arrows below). Please proceed precisely to ensure that they can be connected easily later. Repeat the same procedure on the other side of the dividing side panel as well.

– – 2 – –

Unpack the outer side panel of the wardrobe.

Attach the leveling feet to the outer side panel only on the side facing the inside of the wardrobe. Mount and screw the leveling feet.
After that, screw the four pins into the indicated holes, turning them back a little until they are positionated correctly.
Repeat the same procedure on the other outer side panel as well.

– – 3 – –

Unpack the base and the top cover.

Insert the metal components into the holes shown below. Pay attention to the correct positioning so that the pins can be inserted later (in the base and top cover of the wardrobe).

Place the two bases on the floor (separated a little bit one from the other) in order to start assembling the dividing side panel. Put in the bases and the dividing side panel together: first of all, insert one of the bases into the side panel and tighten the screws as shown below; then, repeat the same procedure for the other base on the other face of the side panel too.

If you have difficulty assembling the side panel with the base, look carefully at this video.

– – 4 – –

Unpack the back sides of the wardrobe (the back side of the wardrobe is approx.1.5 cm wider than the module, as it is inserted into the milled groove in the cabinet side panels, base and top cover).
Insert the back side of the wardrobe into the milled groove in the base.

– – 5 – –

Now insert the right outer side panel of the wardrobe into the milled groove of the base and the back side panel; then, tighten the screws.
IMPORTANT: The outer side panel is 6,4 cm higher than the rest of the wardrobe.

– – 6 – –

Be careful with the next step! Please do it in two in any case!
Put on the top cover element with the help of a ladder. Insert the top cover into the milled groove of the back side of the wardrobe; then slide the top cover to the right up to the right side of the cupboard until the pins enter the holes. Now insert and tighten the screws. Attention: If the cover cannot be pushed in, check whether both the holes and the pins are correctly positioned as described above. If necessary first remove the cover and correct the position of the holes and pins. See also our montage film.

Repeat steps 4, 5 and 6 on the module at the left side of the dividing side panel.
In order to insert the top into the module on the left, slightly spread the upper extremities of the dividing side panel and the outer side panel, so that the top fits in perfectly.

– – 7 – –

In case you have space behind the wardrobe, screw fixings for wardobe back at the back side panel. Please watch the video for this step.

– – 8 – –

Unpack the rails for the sliding doors and the upper dumpers. Slightly unscrew the brakes and insert them into the rails that will be placed on the top, as shown in the picture below. For each rail, insert four dumpers, two per extremity: one of the brakes will allow the braking of the door at the opening and the other brake at the closing.

Place the rails on the top of the wardrobe (as shown in the picture) and screw them at the top. Please watch the video to be sure on how to proceed with this step.

– – 9 – –

Insert the shock absorbers into the lower rails, which will be screwed at the base of the wardrobe; slightly screw the shock absorbers.

Place the rails at the base of the wardrobe to the end stop and screw them.
Watch carefully the video in order to install the rails correctly.

– – 10 – –

Use a spirit level to check if the wardrobe is level. If it is not, use the leveling feet to get the wardrobe plump and level.

– – 11 – –

The shelves are mounted with the screws shown in the photo. The shelf clicks into place and is thus firmly stabilized.

IMPORTANT: We suggest you to mount the shelves, before you proceed with the doors.

– – 12 – –

Now unpack the first door (the inner door).

Attention: the inner door has got one handle and one inside handle.

First of all, screw the tie-rod placed at the vertical edge of the door, until you meet with resistance (see the picture below).

Slightly tighten the screws placed on the upper sliding mechanism as shown in the video. Afterwards, place the upper mechanism flush with the upper edge of the door (inner side) and screw it.
Each door needs two upper mechanism.

IMPORTANT: This screw must be tighten just to adjust the height of doors, only in case the room floor is not perfectly straight.

Screw the two lower sliding mechanisms on the lower part of the door (inner side).

In the picture below, you can see the final result of this step; but please watch carefully the video too and check everything out.

– – 13 – –

Assemble the inner door (do it in two): place the two upper mechanisms on the most external rail of the top.
Open the wheels of the two lower mechanisms as shown in the video. Clip them to the rail unhesitatingly (you should hear a „click“).

– – 14 – –

Assemble the outer door: place the two upper mechanisms on the most internal rail of the top and the lower mechanisms as described in point 13.

Attention: the outer door has got two handles (one for each side).

Now check if the doors are straight. If the central part of the door recedes towards the inside of the wardrobe, screw the tie-rod a little bit more. On the other hand, if the central part of the door leans forward, slightly unscrew the tie-rod.

– – 15 – –

Watch carefully our video to see how to correctly screw brakes and shock absorbers down.

– – 16 – –

Clip the dust seal covering for the outer door, as shown in the video.

– – 17 – –

The drawer module for installation inside the wardrobe is almost completely assembled. Only a few steps are required (see photos below).

If you want to assembly the feet, which is not absolutely necessary, turn the module over and carefully turn it upside down (this step was not shown in the photos) to assembly them.
Then put the feet on and turn the module over again. Then position the element inside the wardrobe: either place the drawer module on the cupboard floor or mount it at a higher point: To place it further up, place it on a shelf.

The drawer boxes have a slightly lower depth than the shelves and can be set up flush at the front.
After the drawer element has been positioned in the cabinet, first place the closing strips on the left and right on the wooden pins provided and tap them into place (Attention: in the photos, the strips were installed outside the wardrobe, which you should do better rather than inside the wardrobe).

The drawer module is not attached separately, but is stable due to its weight and usually standing behind the door hinges.

The enclosed wooden dowels are only used if you install two drawer modules one above the other. A shelf serves as the cover shelf and support for the drawer box: it is either attached like the other shelves. This leaves a small gap between the cover shelf and the top drawer. The shelf can also just be put on if you prefer.

– – 18 – –

Fasten each clothes rail holder to the side panel with two screws on the side. Important: Mount the clothes rail either under a shelf or under the top cover of the wardrobe and as centrally as possible in the wardrobe depth.
