DURABILITY
Swings doors remain in very good condition for a significantly longer period. Sliding doors, on the other hand, have to be made in a very elaborate quality in order to achieve a similar durability. Due to their weight, sliding doors that are not assembled accurately or are not of outstanding quality will sooner or later get stuck. Everyone of us probably knows that or experienced it. The higher the door is, the more likely this will happen at some point.
PRACTICAL FEATURES:
If you want to see the entire cabinet contents at a glance, sliding doors are very impractical. You can only open a part of the wardrobe with them because the sliding doors cover the other part – usually half, sometimes even more.
Specifically: it takes you a while to choose a nice top to wear in the wardrobe. At the same time, when you are in two, your partner is looking for his scarf. Often you’re both in a hurry and maybe a little late. So one has to wait until the other one pick its clothes from the wardrobe half so that the one can get his clothes …
Swings doors, on the other hand, can all be opened at the same time: at a glance you can examine the entire contents of the cupboard, set it up properly or rearrange it according to the upcoming season.
AESTHETICS AND DESIGN:
Many people think that swing doors are more beautiful because they are all in a row, which means they are not spread like sliding doors. This corresponds to our aesthetic impression when the wardrobe front forms a whole with the wall – the wall almost disappears. This applies primarily to frameless wardrobe systems such as those offered at IDAW.
PRICE:
If you have at least 75 – 80 cm space in front of the wardrobe, we recommend a double door. Ultimately, they are also much cheaper than sliding doors of comparable quality – also a strong argument.
